SEO Agency

An Italian SEO agency that works online with companies across Italy and abroad: what we deliver every month, what it costs and how to judge any agency before you sign.

A page under a magnifying glass next to a bar chart: the work of an SEO agency

An SEO agency is a company that optimizes websites for search engines: it analyzes the site, chooses the searches to target and works on technical SEO, content and links to bring in qualified organic traffic, meaning visits from people interested in what you offer, without paying for every click. SEO SRL is an Italian SEO agency that works online for companies, professionals and online stores across Italy and abroad.

For English-speaking clients we cover two situations: foreign companies that want to be found by Italian customers, with Italian-language SEO and Google Ads for the Italian market, and companies that want visibility in more than one country and language, which is the work described on our international SEO page.

What an SEO agency does (and what it should deliver)

First it analyzes, then it plans, then it acts, and every month it measures what happened. At SEO SRL the work follows five phases; from the third phase on, it becomes a monthly cycle.

  1. Audit and data. Technical SEO, site structure, content, links, speed and Search Console and Analytics data: the result is a list of what is holding the site back, ranked by impact.
  2. Strategy and keywords. The searches that bring customers, the intent behind them and the pages to improve or create, based on keyword research and competitor analysis.
  3. Technical implementation and content. Fixing the errors that block crawling and indexing, optimizing the pages you already have, writing new copy where it is missing.
  4. Authority and multichannel. Links and mentions from sites in your industry, Google Business Profile for local searches, social media and presence in the sources AI tools consult.
  5. Measurement and iteration. Rankings, organic traffic and leads from the site, with the priorities for the following month.

The goal is not to "rank first" for any keyword: it is to be found by people who have a need you can meet, at the moment they search for it.

A serious agency should give you documents, not promises: the initial audit with priorities, a work plan with the pages and searches to target, a monthly list of the work done and the reason for each change, and a report with your site's data.

Who needs an SEO agency

An agency makes sense if you want your website to bring in leads and sales, not just visits, and you don't have the time or skills to handle SEO in-house. In particular:

  • online stores, which live on category and product pages found on Google and in Shopping results;
  • local businesses, which compete for customers on Google Maps and in "near me" searches;
  • companies and professionals who sell services and get chosen after a search, more and more often after asking ChatGPT or another AI tool;
  • companies rebuilding their website that don't want to lose the traffic they already have during the migration;
  • foreign companies entering the Italian market, which need pages built on the words Italians actually search for, not a literal translation.

It is not the right choice if you need results within days: that is what advertising is for, for example a Google Ads campaign.

Search Everywhere: Google, Bing, Maps and AI answers

Today people search on Google and Bing, on Google Maps when they look for a nearby business, and in AI answers: Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity. These answers cite only a few sources, chosen among pages that search engines can read and consider reliable.

That is why we work on Search Everywhere Optimization: the same pages, built to work for all of these engines, within a single strategy that also covers Google Ads campaigns and social media.

SEO agency, consultant or do-it-yourself: what changes

You can do SEO yourself, with guides and free tools. The hard part is doing it well and consistently: it takes time, technical skills and constant updating, because Google changes often. Compared with doing it yourself, an agency gives you:

  • a range of skills: technical analysis, content, links and strategy, handled by people who know them;
  • continuity: monitoring, fixes and reports every month, even when you are busy with the rest of your work;
  • an outside view that spots an unclear message or a structure that doesn't work;
  • professional tools to analyze the site, competitors and rankings.

A freelance SEO consultant offers a more direct relationship but covers fewer areas alone. A small agency can combine both advantages: one point of contact who follows the project personally, and a strategy that covers several channels. That is the SEO SRL model.

How to choose an SEO agency: 7 questions to ask before you sign

The answers to these questions tell you more than any sales presentation.

  1. Who will work on my site? Ask for names and roles: who does the analysis, who writes, who is your point of contact.
  2. What do I get in the first month? An audit with priorities and a work plan are the minimum.
  3. How do you measure results? The answer should talk about your site's data, from Search Console and Analytics, and about leads and sales, not just rankings.
  4. How do you get links? If the answer is "we buy them" or "we have a network of sites", that is a risk: bought links violate Google's guidelines and can cost you a penalty.
  5. Do you promise me the top spot? If the answer is yes, find another agency. Google decides rankings: anyone who promises them is promising something they don't control.
  6. Who owns the accounts, content and data? They should stay yours, even if one day you stop working with the agency.
  7. How much does it cost and what is included? A clear quote says what the monthly fee covers and what is billed separately, for example content and link building.

How much an SEO agency costs

The cost depends on the amount of work: the size of the site, the number of pages and products, the competition in your industry, the technical starting point and any specific needs. Be wary of SEO for a few euros a month: at that price there is usually no real work on the site.

At SEO SRL our starting prices are public. Monthly SEO consulting starts at €300 a month on the Basic plan, about 10 hours of work, €700 a month on the Advanced plan and €2,000 a month on the Enterprise plan, for the largest sites. If you need a one-off job, an SEO audit costs €500, €1,000 or €2,000 depending on the size of the site. Link building is not included: we quote it separately. All prices + VAT.

We put together the final quote for your project after looking at the site, and it lists item by item what is included. There are no long-term contracts: you can stop any month.

What results to expect, and when

SEO results do come, but not right away, and no one can promise a date. In its guide Do you need an SEO?, Google recommends asking whoever works on your site what results to expect and on what timeline. It is the right question, and the honest answer depends on:

  • the starting condition of the site;
  • the competition in your industry;
  • the quality of the work and how consistently it is carried out, including content and links;
  • how well SEO works together with your other marketing, such as content, social media and campaigns.

You see the first signs in Search Console: more impressions, pages moving up. Then more organic traffic and, above all, more leads and sales from the site. We show you this data every month, so you can see for yourself whether the work is heading in the right direction.

Why choose SEO SRL

  • One point of contact. The project is run by Eugenio Tommasi, the founder: strategy, technical SEO, SEO copywriting and reporting. He is the one who writes to you and explains what we are doing.
  • SEO and paid campaigns together. We have been managing Google Ads campaigns for over 15 years: the searches we study for SEO are the same ones the ads target.
  • Transparent pricing. Our starting prices are published, and the quote says what is included and what is not.
  • No shortcuts. We don't promise rankings, we don't buy links and we don't publish content without sources.

We work online, with video calls, shared access and monthly reports, with clients across Italy and abroad. If you need a new website as well as SEO, we also build websites and software. Our method and company details are on the About page.

What we don't do

  • We don't promise rankings or dates. We commit to the method and show you the data every month.
  • We don't buy links to push the site up. We work on links earned through content and digital PR; any sponsored collaborations are marked with the rel="sponsored" attribute, as Google requires.
  • We don't publish mass-produced content or copy without sources.
  • We don't hold your accounts and data hostage. They stay yours, even if you stop working with us.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an SEO agency cost?

It depends on how much work the site needs. At SEO SRL, SEO consulting starts at €300 a month (Basic), €700 (Advanced) and €2,000 (Enterprise); a one-off SEO audit costs €500, €1,000 or €2,000. These are starting prices, + VAT; link building is quoted separately.

How long does SEO take to show results?

It depends on the condition of the site, the competition and how consistently the work is done: no one can promise precise dates. The first signs show up in Search Console, such as impressions and pages moving up, before traffic and leads increase.

Can an SEO agency guarantee the top spot on Google?

No. Google decides rankings, and they change with algorithm updates and with what competitors do. A serious agency commits to the method, the work and transparent data, and tells you what it will measure every month.

Can you help a foreign company be found in Italy?

Yes. We work only online, with companies, professionals and online stores across Italy and abroad. For a foreign company we build Italian-language pages on the searches Italians actually make and, if you need leads quickly, we can run Google Ads for the Italian market.
